The Joint Entrance Examination is the gateway to undergraduate engineering admissions in India and runs in two stages — JEE Main and JEE Advanced. JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to the NITs, IIITs and CFTIs, and is also the qualifying screen for JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is conducted by one of the IITs on a rotating basis under the Joint Admission Board (JAB) and is the sole route into the 23 IITs.
